About Dr. Maura Ferguson

Dr. Ferguson is a psychologist and the founder of a growing private practice; she is board certified in California and licensed by the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Dr. Ferguson holds a doctorate (Psy.D) from the California Institute of Integral Studies in clinical psychology and has extensive experience as a clinical in a range of settings, including community mental health, public health, addiction and substance use, private practice, and school settings, including at Toronto’s Willow Centre,  Access Institute of San Francisco, the James Whitney Clinic at The Jung Institute of San Francisco, Bay Area Addiction and Recovery Treatment, the Psychological Services Center of California Institute of Integral Studies as well as The University of California at San Francisco Alliance Health Project. 

 

Her clinical work focuses on individuals and couples experiencing challenges related to low self-worth trauma, grief, bereavement, anxiety, depression, isolation, transitions in life stages, identities, workplace stress and burnout, insecure attachment styles, and relational difficulties, including postpartum depression for all gender identities. Dr. Ferguson is keenly aware that the quality of trust in the therapeutic relationship is critical to creating safety and fostering change and healing. Her work is collaborative and rooted in psychodynamic principles while incorporating appropriate evidence-based techniques and skills.
